This take is a time-aligned blend of THREE microphone feeds from the 24-bit 44.1 kHz masters, which arrived 2026-09-01. GCC-PHAT at three points across the tape reads every mic within one sample of the others, so they were recorded sample-locked on one interface and are summed at zero offset, then averaged so the mix cannot clip. A fourth feed exists and is left out: it measures 26.9 dB below mic1 and would add noise rather than signal. Head alignment against the old 24 kbps transcode measured -0.070 s at 0.866 correlation, so the timecodes carried over with no re-detection.

Where it sits

This take sits at 1:36:40 in the 5:12:25 tape and passes a from-scratch re-check with no dead air at the head and no internal stops. This is the corrected read of the 8.28 session: the first pass weighted pulse salience heaviest when calibrating what counts as playing, that feature carries no signal on this board mix, and 90 minutes of playing was dropped. Of 120 takes, 59 were fragments, 13 were the band drilling one section and 7 were abandoned attempts, leaving 27 complete songs. Every player is listed on the 8.28 index, and the older lossless session is at band practice 8.14.
