Band Practice Players
Every complete take from the 8.14.26 practice tape, one player each, with a real waveform, scrub-to-seek, speed control and an A/B loop. False starts, tuning pauses, section drilling and chatter were removed before these were cut.
What was removed
The tape ran 3:45:27. These 22 takes account for 147 minutes of it. The other 79 minutes were 46 fragments, 9 stretches with no steady pulse, 5 passes of the band drilling one section, and 3 abandoned attempts. Six takes also carried a false start welded to the front, and each of those was cut back to the real downbeat.
The audio
Each player streams a 128 kbps AAC encode made from the 24-bit source in one pass,
with no gain change and no normalization, totalling 136 MB. The lossless originals stay
on disk at ~/Music/Band-Practice/songs-clean/. Every waveform is drawn from 1,600
precomputed peak and RMS buckets read off the 24-bit file rather than off the encode.
How these were chosen
The detector treats a false start as a take the band tried again, and compares each take head-to-head against the ones that follow using chroma-sequence similarity with lag alignment. The full method, the verdict counts, and the places where the evidence is thin are written up in the songs report.
