The app keeps one folder per org and account pair under ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/local-agent-mode-sessions/skills-plugin/. Four exist here. Only one is live, and file modification time is the only honest way to tell them apart.

Each of today's three syncs found nothing left to remove. The sync fires when the Claude window comes forward, roughly twenty minutes apart at the soonest.
Switched off on claude.ai under Customize > Skills > Yours. This machine's own usage record in ~/.claude.json shows zero of the thirteen ever used here, so nothing of this Mac's work was lost with them.
All six are present in the live manifest, confirmed this afternoon.
These ship inside the app. No switch exists for any of them anywhere, so hunting for one wastes the afternoon.
Most skills load as a bare name. The fifty-two unused ones came to roughly 1,300 characters of an 88,000-token start, which is about one and a half percent of one percent. The waiting is the model thinking. A shorter menu is the whole benefit.
14 tarot and chiron skills, counted 2026-10-19: 5d-new-age, book-publish-pipeline-tarotplus, chiron-audio-reading, chiron-cheat-gate, chiron-client-read, chiron-matilda-rws-video, chiron-tarot-reading-video, chiron-teaching-gen, chiron-tencard-reading, oracle-book-builder, tarot-book-rewrite, tarot-canon, tarot-chapter-voice-video, tarot-guide-builder. The keep list also named kate-truth-seekers-tea, which is not a skill on this Mac and never was: no directory under ~/.claude/skills matches kate, truth or seeker, and the Kate combo material the how-to points to sits on the MacBook. Nothing was lost here; the name simply belongs to the other machine. The Magic card, book and video, voice, chat-helper and Etsy skills. Everything in ~/.claude/skills. Settings > Capabilities was never opened, since its one switch would take docx, pdf and xlsx down alongside pptx. No skillOverrides entry and no deny rule was written.
