Built 2026-08-07 · Updated 2026-08-08: 10 sessions transcribed locally, 3 pulled from YouTube, Gruen report downloaded in full · Local sweep: Spotlight + directory walk · Online: mikebickle.org, ihopnetwork.com, archive.org, banner.org.uk, TGC, Christianity Today
Ten local mp3 sessions were transcribed with faster-whisper, then the three remaining sessions were pulled from the official YouTube playlist. 806,226 characters in total. Canonical 2019 transcript coverage moved from 1 of 11 to 11 of 11. Detail in section 4 and section 6.
The material is not scattered. It sits in one large scraped library plus three secondary caches.

Bickle taught this history at least three separate times. The tellings are not interchangeable, and knowing which one a file belongs to is what makes the corpus usable.

Totals out of 11: transcripts 11 (was 1), audio 9, PDF 8, 2009 twin 8. Every session of the 2019 series is now held as searchable text, seven from local audio, three from the YouTube captions, and the Sam Storms interview from the original library.
Session 7 opens by stating the run is ten sessions long. The online listing shows eleven because the Sam Storms interview of November 8 was appended after the August and September Friday-night run finished. The two counts agree once that is separated out.
Session 7 also describes Session 6 as covering the power released on proclaiming the message, tied to the Spirit of Prayer, which matches the online title for Session 6 and confirms the canonical ordering from inside the audio.
A first pass at this table used loose filename matching and reported 6 of 11 sessions present. That number was wrong. The matcher was scoring on the leading digits and on common words, so 04 Three Prophetic Time Frames in the End Times was accepted as session 4, A Procession to the Stadium. Rerunning on distinctive tokens (stadium, hephzibah, blueprint, dungeon, rapha) gave the real figure of 1 transcript. The table above is the corrected pass.
The corpus was not missing the 2019 series. It was missing the text of it. That gap has now been closed for ten sessions using local compute.
Method. faster-whisper 1.2.1, base model, int8 on CPU, beam size 5, three parallel workers on a four-core machine. Each session wrote a .txt plus a .meta.json recording character count, segment count, audio duration and elapsed time. Reruns skip any session already written above 2 KB, so an interrupt costs nothing.

Each transcript was tested for its own subject rather than accepted on file size. Three initially read as empty. The cause was the model spelling Hebrew proper nouns phonetically: Hephzibah is rendered hefsabah, and Jehovah Rapha is rendered Rophe. Rerun on those variants, all ten carry their own subject. Session 7 contains 11 instances of the name, 13 of Isaiah 62, and 39 of "bride".
Session numbers declared inside the audio match the filenames where stated, at sessions 4, 5, 7, 8 and 10.

The 1983 drought sign is the load-bearing miracle of the whole prophetic history, and the local telling and the published critiques do not describe the same weather.
From IHOPKC_s Prophetic History__7wk5hw5.txt, Bickle recounting Bob Jones speaking on May 28, 1983:
"there's a drought coming to this city. It'll be three months. And the drought is, is July 1st to October 1st."
He describes it as "the second worst drought on record" and reports the promised sign of rain arriving on August 23.
The same passage carries an explicit adjustment of the start date:
"I think that day the drought started in June 1st, but when we looked at all the records, it was July 1st, October 1st."
The full text of the Gruen report is now held locally, pulled from archive.org at 342,674 characters. Its Section I addresses this exact claim. Two kinds of material sit in it, and they carry very different weight.
The report cites National Weather Bureau readings from Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base, minutes from the church, showing over seven inches of rain in June 1983, which it describes as well above normal. It records the August 23 rainfall as under one third of an inch, and notes that six of the twelve rainy days in June exceeded it, with one day reaching 2.35 inches.
It also transcribes Bickle's telling at the time, in which the drought runs from June and August 23 brings three to four inches of rain.
Gruen made partial concessions in a July 1, 1990 letter to John Wimber. He affirmed the document's essential accuracy and said he did not regret releasing it. He also conceded that some testimonies were disputable, retracted an account of a baby dying after a prophecy on the grounds it was undocumented, and completely exonerated Paul Cain of any negative charges, which contradicts parts of his own document.
The practical rule for using this source: the weather-station figures and the transcribed direct quotes stand, since none of those were retracted. His characterizations and conclusions do not, and nothing negative about Paul Cain from this document should be carried forward at all.
Session 3 of the 2019 series was absent from this Mac in every format. Pulled from YouTube, it runs 73,356 characters and addresses both contested points head on.
The 2019 telling states the word was given on May 28 promising rain on August 23, and adds that the drought did not begin until July 1, with the remark that this was not understood at the time. That is the same July 1 start the other local transcript gives.
The 2019 account explains where the larger figure came from. Immediately after the August 23 meeting he asked people present how much it had rained, nobody had measured, and a rough estimate of a couple of inches circulated. He told the story afterward as three or four inches. He says the group had assumed rain continued through the whole meeting when it had actually stopped, that fact-checking some years later showed it did not rain that much, and that he corrected it publicly, adding that a wrong statement needs correcting.
Anyone writing from this material should carry all four points together. Presenting the 1990 figures without the recorded correction misstates the record, and presenting the correction without the figures hides what prompted it.
The one 2019 transcript held locally is the outside-voice session. It names the Arrowhead Stadium prophecy as the thing critics press hardest on, and it grants that Bickle "made mistakes like all of us do." It frames its own purpose as answering critics, which makes it the natural hinge between the internal telling and the external record.
The first sweep surfaced YouTube transcript paths in its own results and did not follow them. It also cited archive.org from a search summary without ever fetching the item. Both are corrected below, and both turned out to hold material that changes the picture.
The official playlist carries nine of the sessions, including all three the local library lacks as transcripts.

Seventeen transcript files across five already-downloaded channel corpora discuss the prophetic history directly. These were on the machine the whole time.

Paul Keith Davis is the standout. His corpus carries 23 files mentioning Bob Jones and 5 mentioning Paul Cain, the densest secondary account of the prophetic history held locally, and it comes from a Bob Jones associate rather than from IHOPKC.
One file, yt-kirk-bennett-FULL/transcripts/0SG7K6mjoG0.txt at 63,519 characters, contains a first-person review of the prophetic history naming 1983 and 1984 as the pivotal years.
The archive.org item holds the scan in seven formats. The useful one is the plain text at 342,674 characters, now saved locally. Read section 5 before using it, since the retraction limits what parts can be cited.
7wk5hw5 fileThe Gruen material and the 2023 investigation land on the same mechanism, which is prophetic authority used to place a claim beyond examination. That is the axis to organize any writing against, since it connects the founding history to the collapse without needing either one to explain the other.
